Independent Photo Journalist / Photography Editor / Consultant to Graphic Communication media.
Bio
Ricardo Ceppi was born in 1956 in Rosario, Argentina.
He has been a photographer since 1973 and he has worked as professional photojournalist since 1983.
Ricardo Ceppi is settled in Buenos Aires, Argentina and has the availability to produce photo interviews covering a wide area in Latin America.
During 15 years he integrated the editorial department of the most important Buenos Aires city’s newspapers, magazines and News-Agencies, knowing about the necessities of those departments. He specializes in national and international political issues and the constitution of correspondents.
Today he is a locally, well known independent photojournalist who conceives and produces his own photo interviews and investigative theme articles while working freelance for important local and international media.
Nowadays, he is the image photographer of Jorge Telerman, Buenos Aires city’s mayor and is one of the team members of his election campaign on June 2007.
He is also well respected in the local editorial world for his work both as a senior photographic editor – he edits major books and large circulation newspaper weekly supplements – and as a technical consultant. In the case of the Rosario newspaper “La Capital”, he revamped and updated their photography department to digital equipment and systems as well as training their photographic staff.
In the academic world, Ricardo has thought courses in Photojournalism and in Ethics and Deontology the science relative to duty or moral obligation – as part of the career of Professional Photographer at the Motivarte School of Buenos Aires. At the present, he is giving a Photojournalism course at The Swarthmore Program in Buenos Aires (SPBA).
He has also extensively researched and acted as photographic compiler and curator of a historical document such as “Lupanar: Photographies of an Argentine brothel” (circa 1940).
